If your family is looking for a way to really embrace Thanksgiving as a meaningful holiday, try one of the suggestions below.

  • Make the day about family. Use the whole day to eat, play, and relax together. Have some activities that you can all enjoy like watching a funny movie or playing games.
  • Reflect on what the holiday means. Especially taking the time to do this with younger family members can be important so they realize the importance of appreciating what they have.
  • Actually say thanks. A great tradition is to require each person around the table to say three things they are thankful for before they eat.
  • Get a white table cloth that you will use each year for thanksgiving. Every year, have everyone write something they are thankful for on that table cloth.
  • Christmas prep! Thanksgiving can be a great time to start getting out the decorations and preparing for an even bigger holiday.
  • Family football. Host a family football game, as football has surely emerged as part of the American Thanksgiving tradition.
  • Volunteer at a homeless shelter. Doing this activity as a family is giving an incredible gift to those in need.
  • Contact your local charities groups to see if you can find a family that yours could donate a thanksgiving meal to.
  • Instead of having yearly Christmas Cards, write thanksgiving cards to send out to the extended family. Make a family activity out of writing some thank you cards to send to people that you are grateful for.
  • Recruit Black Friday shoppers and map out your game plan for success. It will surely be a fun and unforgettable experience if you make the biggest shopping day of the year a family event.

If you're looking for great pizza in New Jersey, then at least you know that you're in the right state! You might have heard this part of the country referred to as the Pizza Belt, which includes New York, Philly, and New Jersey. Whether you're looking for great Tuscan, Neapolitan, or New York style of pizza, you can find it somewhere in New Jersey. These pizza styles are mostly differentiated by their crusts. Neapolitan has the thinnest, crustiest crust. Tuscan is slightly thicker, and New York is thicker again.

If you're in Northern NJ, check out Amano in Ridgewood for some authentic Neapolitan style pizza. If you want a Tuscan pizza fresh from the brick oven, you could try La Casa Bianca in Whitehouse Station instead.

If you're in central New Jersey, then you have to try DeLorenzo's in Trenton. This is a famous local pizza place, and is something everyone needs to try once. For great pizza in a more of a sit down beer and pizza type atmosphere, try Conte's Bar in Princeton.

For the Southern part of New Jersey we can offer you a great recommendation in both Maple Shade, and in Atlantic City. In Maple Shade, try Tacconelli's Pizzeria. If you've headed all the way to Atlantic City, you need to try Tony's Baltimore Grille. Not only do they serve pizza, but they also specialize in other traditional Italian cuisine.
