Priority Express was a proud sponsor of M.C.F.O.O.D.S. By being a collection center we also by provided some deliveries for the food and supplies collected. We would like to give a sincere “Thank you” to all of our customers that donated to this great food drive. Together we collected over 3 tons of food and supplies. We exceeded our goal and will hopefully ease the burden of those in our community that need help.
The Middlesex County Food Organization and Outreach Distribution Services (M.C.F.O.O.D.S.) was created in 1994 to help ensure that an adequate supply of nutritious foods and necessities are readily available to Middlesex County residents in need at all times. M.C.F.O.O.D.S. collects and distributes nonperishable items at no cost to over 70 local food pantries and soup kitchens throughout the County as well as an additional 25 agencies including residential facilities, shelters, social service agencies, programs for women and children, senior citizen housing facilities and other outreach services that are also a part of our network. Through all of the agencies in the network M.C.F.O.O.D.S. is reaching a wide variety of people throughout the County that are in need including low income families, the homeless, people with disabilities or mental or physical challenges, children and senior citizens

Use the tips on this checklist to ensure that your home is ready for all of the festive activities the holiday season brings.
Decorating Safety
- Avoid overloading electrical outlets, which can overheat and cause a fire.
- Do not place extension cords where they could cause a tripping hazard, like doorways.
- Do not run extension cords under rugs or furniture.
- Keep all decorations 3 feet away from heating sources, including space heaters and fireplaces
- Keep young visitors in mind. Place breakables, candles and other potentially dangerous items out of their reach.
- Turn off and unplug all decorations before leaving home or going to sleep.
- Use only weatherproof electrical devices for outside activities. Protect outdoor electrical devices from moisture.
Child Safety
- Put small items that could pose a choking hazard - like buttons, coins and jewelry – away if you if are hosting young children.
- Use safety gates at the top and bottom of stairways to keep babies and toddlers safe.
- Move all cleaning products and other dangerous items out of reach of children and store them in a locked area.
- Consider turning your water heater temperature down to 120 degrees Fahrenheit to reduce the risk of scalding.
- In homes with young children, install tamper resistant receptacles to prevent electrical shocks and burns, or use safety covers on all unused outlets that are accessible to children.
- Never allow children to play with electrical decorations or cords.

There are certain things that we habitually say to each other during the holidays, and one of the most uttered phrases at this time of year is “we wish you a merry Christmas and a happy New Year”. Most of us have spoken those words or had them spoken to us; however, the origins of the phrase stretch back all the way to 1699. The first suspected use of the term “Merry Christmas” came at that time from a British Admiral.
When looking for gifts at Christmas time, choosing items which wish someone a Merry Christmas is a wonderful way to communicate the sentiment of the season. Gifts like coffee cups which say Merry Christmas remind people year round of the well wishes provided to them. Of course not everyone can give gifts to all the people they know, but cards are a great way to wish a wonderful holiday season to your family and friends.
Christmas is the season of joy. We celebrate through bright decorations and gifts and revel in the company of our friends and family. Send gifts, cards, and letters to your loved ones at this time of year which lets them know how you feel about them. Wishing someone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year doesn't just indicate your wishes for them to have a happy holiday season. It also shows them that they truly mean something to you, and that you always hold them and their happiness in your heart.

Neuro linguistic programming (NLP) has been shown to affect every aspect of your life. You can improve yourself, the way that you feel, and even your finances by using the basic tenets of NLP to their fullest. These tips can help you get started on improving things immediately.
First, when you go to sleep at night, you should try and fill your head with images of the people that are living the type of life that you want to live. Use magazines or the internet to look at images of people that are accomplishing the type of things that you want to accomplish, look the way you want to look, or are behaving like you want to. Your mind will start to figure out how to achieve these goals with the help of the visual cues.
Supply your mind with positive imagery. If something is particularly hard or difficult for you, stop providing your mind with negative messages, such as “I am afraid of confrontation”. Instead, turn it on its head, and say to yourself that, “I handle confrontation in a cool and collected manner”. The more you do this, the more it will become true.
Give yourself time to meditate and dwell on the successes you want in your life. Even if you can only take ten minutes out of every day to do this, it can pay dividends. Spend your time daydreaming not about the person that you are, but the person you want to be. See your life in your mind’s eye as you would have it be.
